Efax Broadcast
Broadcast Faxing: A viable way to get the word out.
Consumers and business service and product buyers are getting savvy. E-mail filters and a quick eye for junk mail make B2B and B2C communications a challenge when, trying to get the word out. One option to consider is broadcast or blast faxing. We compared three popular broadcast fax services: eFax Broadcast, Protus Fax Broadcast and Globe Newswire Fax Broadcast on four features: ease of registration, cost, and file formats.
Efax (j2 Global Communications) offers free, easy-to-complete sign-up. The e-mail arrives in the time it took to start the email application. Protus requires a call to their sales team and offers account set up within one business day. Globe Newswire Fax Broadcast allows information to be sent over the web, but requires a contact by their Client Services staff for completion. This round goes to eFax Broadcast! With Efax, you are permitted to get started immediately with no "people" barriers between you and getting the word out. Efax cost per page is $.06 for US and Canada, letter-sized. There is an additional $.06 per page for Mail Merge. “Do Not Send Duplicate” service is $5 per job for up to 1000 numbers and $30 per job for 20,000+ numbers. Pricing for Protus seems to be a carefully guarded secret.
Information is only available from a sales person. Globe advertises $.45 per page for domestic faxing. Round 2 to eFax Broadcast, for cost effectiveness!
Fax documents can be in Microsoft® Word, Excel, WordPerfect, Rich Text File (RTF) and Adobe Acrobat (PDF). Protus accepts over forty file formats, including the above. Specific file format information for Globe was not easy to locate. While EFax may not support the wider variety of file formats, it is easy to manage most any message content in the formats they do offer.
Our conclusion: For cost effective, accessible business broadcast faxing, eFax Broadcast is a clear winner. FS 2010
